In Beauty Makeup Review Tarte ZoelieWho

Review| Tarteist Toolbox Brush Set & Magnetic Palette [Limited Edition]

[I would like to up my blogging skills with--------> GIFS!]
______________________________________________________________

So Tarte had released these limited edition brushes and I got one (in which I coulda wait a few days more and get it during Black Friday... but I didn't...)

max.. regret..

...

Anyway, I decided to give a small review on these brushes.
They literally killed my plan to buy Real Technique in Bangkok, since it's somewhat cheaper to buy there.
For Rm185, I've got a complete set of 9 synthetic brushes in gold metallic handles.
The design of the casing.. well I'm not a big fan.

I tore the plastic off without even thinking that it's part of the casing.
Yes.
I did.
..without ever thinking that it is to hold eyeshadow palettes... but it didn't matter anyway.

The Sephora salesgirl told me that this version is better than Last Year's.
"A huge improvement," she said.

That made it interesting.
Now let's look through the brushes kay?
So we've got da Foundation Brushes

... we've got the stippling side

... and the plain foundation side.

Then there's also these Concealer Brushes

... where we got da large size

... and da smol size.

Next up, we have the Eyeshadow Brushes

... where there's also a bigger size

... and a smoler size

Furthermore, we've got da Cheek and Highlight Brushes

... where there's the highlight brush

... and also the blush brush.

Lastly, we have the multi-use Complexion Brush

... and seriously there's only one side for this brush.

Here are my thoughts and opinions:
- The brushes feel soft and not painful when I stab them to my face.
- They don't feel ultimately luxury though.
- The handles can be heavier. The current weight took away the luxury feelings.
- The inner casing design, I dislike the pouch-pocket since it could create odd frays from the brushes.
- The shadow palette side, it wasn't a great idea to put cheap-looking-and-feeling plastic cover.
Something more sturdier is better.
- The outer casing design, well, I guess you wanted it to look retro? The Nineteen-Seventy's kind of feeling?
- I think it'd be better if we put some of the weight of the casing to the handles of the brushes instead (??) No?
- The brushes pick up colours well.
They don't 'swallow' all the colour and each of them did a really great job.
However, sometimes they do shed a strand or two.
- There are some strands sticking out as well, as in an error in cutting or something. Just, there are like some strands sticking out from the design that feels really odd to be there. It doesn't affect the applying process but the appearance does disturb me. I'll trim it manually since I really don't like seeing it. *snip snip*
- I could use some directions on which brush is for what makeup-job too, but it doesn't matter now since I've memorized it :/ I'm not a brush-person, you see. I'm pretty dumb at fancy brushes.

Final thoughts:
For the price of Rm185 (Original price Rm200), they really made a great deal for those who are not a professional in makeup but are doing good at it. It's really a dream-come-true for those who travels in a frequent manner. However, because of the price, I'd prefer to keep them at home instead. Given the fact that Malaysia Ringgit has been falling drastically. It's quite an expensive set of brushes for a student, which it does provide a little feeling of "luxurious-like" but it can still do better.

In Hauls Shop Luv TaoBao ZoelieWho

Shop Luv & Haul| EzBuy for everyone in Malaysia! (Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and Indonesia too!)

I've been shopping on Taobao a lot lately but because of my increasing workload, I can't monitor the purchasing and shipping process from time to time.
This is where I rely on a website called Ezbuy, which I mentioned about them in my Taobao FAQ video on my Youtube Channel.

Let me get to introducing Ezbuy first, then I'll proceed to my hauls :)

——————————————————————————————————————
Ezbuy Intro:
Ezbuy is a third party company where they help you to buy and ship your purchases to your doorsteps.
It doesn't matter whether you wanna buy from Taobao, TianMao or any other stores, as long as they're from China, Taiwan and America, you get to enjoy the services that they're providing!

They currently have a website and a mobile app at the same time.
MAXIMIZING CONVENIENCE FOR US ALL!
YAS!

The website has a very user friendly interface and it's mainly in English. This pretty much solves every non-chinese speakers' problems.

The website itself has a lot of different subcategories for you to choose from and the items are linked to the original pages (i.e: from Taobao, Tianmao, etc).
All these product information are in English, so you won't have to worry too much while you're browsing through.

Now here's the biggest reason why I love using their services:
AGENT FEE FREE PROMOTIONS!!

Occasionally they will have 100% discount on the agent fees, which are basically 8% extra charges from your total purchases and shipping. (See below)

This kind of promotion happens around 2 times per week/month, so if you want to enjoy this promotion, you can do it -at least- TWICE and combine them into one shipping at the end of your second round purchasing.

Of course, if you need more info, you can visit their Quick Guide page.
You can also visit their Ship For Me page to know more about buying from China, Taiwan and America from their websites.

[If you get confused by Ship For Me and Buy For Me]
[Ship For Me is when you purchase manually and ship the item to the address they provided.]
[Buy For Me is when you purchase through their website/mobile app and they process up to 90% of the transaction for you (including refund). ]

Here's what you pay for the shipping:
Shipping fee for China purchases
Shipping fee for Taiwan purchases
Shipping fee for U.S. purchases.
The options available to you are Economic, Priority, Sensitive, Express and Sea Shipping.
I use Economic shipping usually but Sea Shipping is not bad of a deal too, especially when your parcels are prone to becoming being weighted with Volume Metric Measurements.

[Meaning that the size of your parcel may be too big but the weight of it is too little. The courier will then calculate the weight of your parcel using the equation of
length x width x height/5000
This equation is most likely to cost you more than 1kg of your parcel's original weight.]

[Ezbuy will provide you the information of  your parcel's weight and it's volume metric weight. They will choose whichever that has more volume and use that one instead.
The parcel below was shipped using volume metric weight for payment.]

I normally use their mobile app because it's really, really convenient.

Here's a screenshot of the homepage:

As you can see, this is my account user interface.
It's very convenient and the layout allows me to check on my purchases in a very short duration.

From the screenshot below, you can see the things that I just bought and they are ready to be shipped off the warehouse in China.

Before you confirm your shipping, you can check out how much it weighs, how much does the shipping and agent fee costs. At the same time, you can use coupon code, if you have any.

You can also choose delivery method and select any of your choice.
You can either choose a courier or collect it on your own, which is totally free of charge.
There are only four states available, which are Kuala Lumpur/Selangor, Johor Bahru, Penang and Kuching.

Since I'm from K.L., I'll pick the first one.
Then, you  can choose to either pick up from their centre, from selected MBE stations or from selected McD Drive Thru stores.

Before my latest shipment, I would usually pick Mcd but then again there's a very limited time frame for them to be at /that specific/ drive thru that you picked.
They will only be there for around 20 mins then they'll be off to another station.

Right now, I prefer collecting from MBE stations because the only time limit is their business hour, which is around 10am to 7pm (9pm).

Lastly, you can also check the status of your items that aren't in the warehouse yet.
The first status would be "Order Placed."
The second status would be "Dispatched by Seller."
The third status indicates that it's being inspected and/or repackaged. (Repacking can also be requested by buyers but if the Customer Service crew advised you otherwise and you still insist, then they will not bear the responsibility if your items are defected throughout the shipping process.)

Ezbuy has a good customer service system but here are the downparts:
a. The "online chat" app that is supposed to appear at the bottom right of the website does not appear. When it does, the person in charge doesn't reply immediately.
b. Customer Service line took very long time to pick up. First 3 calls were never picked up. The rest of 2 calls took a very long time before they pick up the phone.
c. Even though the customer service crew were polite during the phone call, and that they do reply at the end of the day, I'm still very annoyed by what happened.

But overall, here are my opinions on this company:
1. Great deals being offered (agent fee free, shipping fee discounts, cash off deals, etc)
2. The shipping fees are relatively cheaper than what's provided on Taobao.
3. Provides 2 types of collecting method for more than 3 states.
4. Mobile app has a really good layout design where everything can be seen and done easily, it shortens decision-making time.
5. Making product information from Chinese websites into English. (Saved many lives there)
6. Parcel arrival is always earlier than ETA provided. (about 4 to 7 days after confirming shipping)
7. Customer Service isn't exactly/relatively perfect but at least we get to enjoy great deals.

In Beauty Beauty talk Beauty Tips Skin Care SootheThyEczema ZoelieWho

*new* Soothe Thy Eczema| Things you shouldn't do!

So, I never knew I had eczema until recently and thinking back about the stupid things I did, it really hit me hard in the face to know that I WAS THE CULPRIT TOO!!

Let's get into the knowledge of Eczema in a bit:

  1. Eczema isn't triggered by your personal hygiene, but the environment's.
Sure, the moment you hear this familiar term, your head starts to focus on the word "Unhygienic" or maybe even "Ew." But eczema is truly triggered by external factors that leads to internal damage. By internal, I mean your inner level of skin haaaaah. Of course, there are other factors too.

Causes of eczema: stress, allergy to food, smoke, pollen, bacteria infection, hormone-related, strong soap/detergents/shampoos, hot baths, etc.
Other reasons: Asthma, hay fever, ADHD, damaged skin, nutrient deficiencies, etc.
  2. There are so many types of eczema!
Common ones: Allergic contact eczema (dermatitis), contact eczema, dyshidriotic eczema, neurodermatitis, nummular eczema, seborrtic eczema, stasis dermatitis, etc.

Consult a skin specialist to know your symptoms better.
  3. Nope. No cure at all.
You can only "treat/soothe" it, but there is no cure to eczema for now.

See, the reason why I listed these is because I DID WHAT I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO.
Here are the list of things that I shouldn't have and you should avoid to do so:
  • Hot baths.
    • Hmmmm I know it feels dang good in hot baths, but you know what? That hot temperature of your bathing water will cause your skin to lose more moisture than ever. So you better stop it!
  • Strong chemicals.
    • Things like strong body soap, strong shampoo, disinfectant that dries out skin very quickly, and your housekeeping chemicals can do more harm to you than a regular person, since your skin is much more easier to damage.
  • Scratch. scratch. scratch.
    • Those nails of yours have more germs than you think. Better cut them short before your can't control the itch any more! You don't wanna have scars do you?
  • Rub your skin vigorously with a towel after shower
    • Oh it feels good too, right? BUT did you know that you're rubbing off a lot of moisture off your skin? Pat it gently instead so that you still get to keep some moisture for your skin.
  • Use disinfectant on your face
    • I initially thought my skin was just full of germs after all the scratching, so I used hydrogen peroxide (in 6% omg not 35% chill chill) to wipe my face once in a while. Turns out I was too dumb to know that it dries out my skin even faster. Wrong move.
  • Neglect skin care.
    • I did this for almost a decade and now I truly regret the day I gave into my laziness. Now I'll never dare to do it again.

Eczema is really horrible. Trust me you won't want that ever again.
My eczema made my entire year depressing and now I've finally have better skin. I'll talk about it on another post but until now, STAY MOISTURISED!

*ps: I'll state my eczema story and what you "should do" along with what products to use on the next blog post!
