50Gram

50Gram is an online florist shop but recently they've decided to branch out a bit and go into the gifting line. Some of the things that they've included in their line are plushies (like Jellycat), unicorn mugs, bath and body items, juice, delectables and more. Right now, they've collaborated with Swanicoco to be the first company to launch this brand in the nation after signing the Memorandum of Association on 30th August 2018 in Sunway Impressoul Gastrology.

Verdict

It's my first time hearing about this brand and after learning about it, I found out that Watson's are carrying them too, so it should be pretty good. However, Watson's are only carrying skin care products, which means the majority of the Malaysians would be unaware of their makeup range and learning about their reviews would be difficult. I was given the opportunity to try one of the lipstick and it's the black edition, very different from their regular white edition where they focuses on MLBB (My lips but better) colours, less like MLBB but you can get the idea if you search up the swatches.

Colour: Orange Red
Smell: Organic sweet smell, like grapefruit
Texture: smooth gliding
Packaging: Simple, round, matte

The colour in the black edition focuses on brighter tones and they're called Pink Blossom, Shine Orange and Juliet Red. The shade that I've gotten is called Juliet Red. Pretty intimidating when I first opened the cap because I find red lipsticks hard to conquer. After swatching it on my hand, I was even more worried since they are superbly pigmented. The smell was rather sweet, like organic sweet. It somehow reminds me of grapefruit? Not sure but it's still a pleasant smell. The texture is rather smooth, slightly matte but overall still glossier than matte, possibly due to the organic oils. The packaging tho, it was a little underwhelmed when I first saw it but I grew fonder as time passes because it can actually fit anywhere with the black colour. The cap has to be twisted in order to remove, pretty secure in case of accidental spillage.

The colour on my lips became less intimidating because it's not as red as I was afraid it would be. I've tried solid red lipstick and those made me look awful. This shade has some orange tones in it which help to fit well on Asian skin tone. However, I still can't do the full-lip look, it has to be a gradient for me in order to look normal. Surprisingly the colours do last long and the lipstick doesn't feel dry on my lips. They're not completely matte which does contribute to the non-dryness. The lipstick is lightweight on the lips and felt as though I wasn't wearing it. However, it's not completely smudge-proof and there would still be a little transferring.

Rating:

Colour shade: Not bad
Colour Payoff: ✨✨✨✨✨
Smell: 👌👌👌👌
Comfort: 🙆🙆🙆🙆
Durability: 👄👄👄👄
Staining: 👄👄👄

Price: 💰💰
Smudgeproof: 🙅🙅🙅🙅
Transfer-proof: 🙅🙅🙅
Availability: 😓😓😓😓😓

Repurchase: Maybe?
Reason: At this moment, it's very difficult to purchase the lipstick or other shades. Even so, I would still want to reconsider before buying it.
