How to use

You can start by picking up a pair of clippers that comes with the product itself. You can find this available in the box and I don't suggest that you put this into the container.

As a toner pad
After cleansing, wipe the product onto the skin by starting from the centre of the face and working your way out before gently patting the skin until the product is fully absorbed

As a mask pad
For a more concentrated dose of hydration, place the pads onto targeted areas of the skin and allow to sit for 10-15 minutes. Remove, then gently pat in the remaining product into the skin until fully absorbed.

Review

This is a really simple product to use. It's very straightforward and it moisturizes my skin really well. What I really like about it is that these pads are not fully cotton. A fully-cottoned pad is easier to dry out and absorb back the moisture off your skin, which is basically just wasting your time and money. So having these pads in cotton gauze is so much relieving especially because I can forget about the time and not feeling guilty about leaving it on my skin for too long.

It doesn't look like the pads have lots of moisture on it but wait until you twist the pads dry. One pad was juicy enough to moisturize your whole face and neck. I also don't throw away the pads right after using them as masks on my cheeks. I rub the remaining moisture onto my arms and legs and they still can cover large areas without drying out immediately. The moisture will also get absorbed into the skin very quickly without leaving any uncomfortable feelings behind. The liquid has a really smooth and watery texture while the cotton gauzes don't feel abbrasive on the skin as well.

There isn't a lot of smell from this product. I guess you can say that it smells like a green plant but it also has a very faint citrus smell in it (thanks to the orange extract.) But even with the orange extract, I did not feel any tingling sensation on my skin (citric juice does sting your skin a little, especially if you have open wounds). That being said, it is a really gentle product that I believe will not trigger my eczema or cause me any breakouts. I wouldn't even mind leaving it on my skin longer than 10 minutes too.

On the other hand, I use this on my boyfriend after giving him a good manual pore cleaning/pimple extraction. (I've mentioned this in the Skin Relief Calming Cream review post but I will repeat it again here for better reference.) He has a lot of blackheads and whiteheads hiding inside of his pores so using only chemical exfoliation was not enough. So it was necessary for me to use my fingers and pinch those dirty things out but this creates another issue: his skin would start to turn red, becomes hardened and the pores would enlarge. I usually solve this with Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask and then end the routine with a cold sheet mask. It works but it didn't work as good as using the Skin Relief Calming Cream along with these pads.

If you'd like to know the routine I have for him, here's what I did:
1. Cleansing with Althea Bare Essentials Contour Cleanser
2. Exfoliating with Onsaemeein Yogurt Peeling
3. Deep mask & pore cleansing with Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2x
4. Manual pore cleaning with fingertips and tissue paper
5. Secondary pore cleansing with Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask
6. Cooling down the skin with Althea Waterful Green Bamboo Pads (this product)
7. Calming down the skin with Althea Skin Relief Calming Cream

As usual, every althea product has expiry dates on the product packaging as well as on the product itself. So even if you throw the boxes away, you don't have to worry about whether you remember the expiry date or not.
